• What:  Learn about recent court cases impacting Point of Sale inspections, as well as rental policy and other private property rights. Featured speaker is Maurice Thompson, Executive Director of the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law. 1851 is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that litigates constitutional issues related to property rights, taxpayer and entrepreneur rights, regulation, parental rights, and search and seizure. They were involved with the POS cases in Bedford and Oakwood, as well as the rental inspection case out of Portsmouth. Most recently, they won a private property rights case in Bowling Green where the city limited the number of unrelated persons allowed to live in a home.
