Amy Callahan

Amy Callahan became involved with Waterloo Arts after her children attended the organization’s fledgling arts camp. Inspired by the urban activism of the founders, Calalhan began volunteering on the programming committee and in 2008, she left her position in human resources at WP Hickman to join Waterloo Arts as part-time operations manager. She has enjoyed working with the community and artists in Cleveland to build an asset in the Collinwood neighborhood. Waterloo Arts has played a key role in developing the Waterloo Arts & Entertainment District into a thriving art scene by attracting other arts-related businesses, facilitating public art projects, gallery exhibits and educational programs. Since her appointment as director in 2012, she has developed the Waterloo Arts Fest into the neighborhood’s premiere event and initiated Cleveland’s first street art project, Zoetic Walls, and hosted international artists-in-residence. Callahan received a BA from St John’s College in Annapolis, MD and serves on the Friends of Collinwood Rec Center.

Although not native to Cleveland, she is proud to have raised three sons who consider Cleveland home.
