Culturally Speaking: Fair Housing for Today's World is a fast-paced civil rights class you won't want to miss!  Led by Jackie Cassara, yes, we will review the Fair Housing Act facts and then jump into the changing demographics and trends that are happening and how we can all keep up!  Households are changing and homebuyer profiles are changing.  We will have a discussion about how biases and stereotypes are learned and how we improve our cultural know-how.  And let's not forget about fair housing and advertising laws in Ohio -- we will keep you on top of those important topics plus offer some additional tips to consider ensuring you are providing equal service -- don't forget about your checklist!  Instructor:  Jackie Cassara; 3-hour civil rights credit approved; classroom-style only.  Contact tcovell@akronclevelandrealtors.com with questions.

Jackie Cassara
Jackie is celebrating more than 35 years in residential real estate, with a career that has included sales, management, marketing and training.   Her experience has included public and media relations; writing, editing and implementing web site and intranet content; recruitment advertising and corporate positioning.  She is currently Vice President and Manager of Howard Hanna's Cleveland Heights office overseeing nearly 1,000 closed sales annually.


As Vice President, Education for Howard Hanna Real Estate Services (2008-2020), she was responsible for the development and deployment of classroom and online education for more than 13,000 new and experienced agents, managers and staff in Howard Hanna's 11 state market.  Jackie has served on the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees for many years at the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS, where she also serves as a Mediator.  Jackie has served as chair of the Ohio REALTORS Professional Development Committee (2013) and as an Ohio REALTORS Director.

With a B.A. and graduate work in Theatre/Speech Communications, Jackie has also taught Public Relations Writing at the University of Akron.  She especially enjoys working with real estate's 'niche' markets, developing programs to address the needs of multicultural clients, and first-time home buyers and seniors.
