Advocacy helps protect the real estate industry that our members work. Just as importantly, advocacy protects private property rights of the home buying and selling public so that buyers and sellers are able to meet their housing needs as well as consumers seeking to meet their commercial property needs. Since late 2009, Jamie has coordinated the development of a comprehensive legislative policy manual; spearheaded fundraising efforts for RPAC totaling more than $1 million; and has worked with officials at every level of government on various issues important to the industry including point of sale inspections, rental policies including lead remediation, lending challenges, water department issues, and others. Jamie was recently appoint to represent the Ohio REALTORS on the Ohio Lead Advisory Council, which provides insight to the Ohio Department of Health on child lead poisoning policy. Prior to joining the REALTOR association family, Jamie was the Legislative Director for a national senior citizens organization advocating for social security issues, and was the Legislative Director for former Congressman Bob Ney. A native of Cadiz, Ohio, Jamie has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Mount Union. In her spare time, she volunteers with the National Cabinet of Mount Union Women and supports organizations like Keep Akron Beautiful, Special Olympics, and the Ohio Valley Down Syndrome Society.
